About

Lisa E. Wright was born and raised in Baltimore, MD.

After years of homeschooling her children, she realized it was easier to teach people she didn’t know, so she turned her children over to a private school and began her teaching career as a secondary English teacher.

Lisa has been in the field of education for over 15 years. She has taught Kindergarten, middle and high school English, Social Studies,  ESL, and courses in African history. 

Lisa has a B.A. in English with a minor in African and African American Studies from Coppin State University. She holds a M.A. in African and African American Studies from The Ohio State University. She has a TESOL certification from the Tennessee Language Institute. She is received her PhD in English Creative Nonfiction at Oklahoma State University. She is a Lecturer in the University Writing Program at Johns Hopkins University.

She juggles being a wife to her soul mate, Ibrafall, and a mommy to their three intelligent and beautiful girls and wise handsome son. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, playing piano, long hikes, a good cup of tea, and escaping in a good book.
